Hello
I am Andrew Wong, a third year Industrial Design student at The Ohio State University with a background in psychology. It is my belief that great design begins with a willingness to shift perspectives, collaborate openly, and continually ask questions. I find inspiration in the beauty that emerges from life. Through this approach, I strive to create designs that resonate deeply with people and elevate the ordinary.
My Story
Growing up I loved drawing, playing out in the dirt, building legos, and making up games with my neighbors. I was filled with curiosity and wonder. My dad always wondered if I was going to go into a creative field when I grew up. Turns out he was right.

I graduated with a bachelor's in psychology from The Ohio State University and worked in a hospital. I knew I loved helping people and was going down the track to become a mental health counselor. However, as time went on, I realized this may not be the path that I wanted to continue on. There was a desire to create. To create to bring good into the world. That is where I found industrial design.
Throughout my career as a designer at Ohio State and various work experiences, I have learned a great deal about intention in design. Great design is not rushed, it is iterative. Great design is not selfish, it is codesign. Great design is not still, it evolves. Great design is not exclusive, it is inclusive. It is my belief that we can create a better world through design. One where it is not just designers, engineers, and project managers creating, but one that brings the everyday person into the fold. Sometimes the experts in design are the ones right in front of us the entire time.
